I am really looking forward to Thursday, December 15th! Tasha Miller, my beautiful and mega-talented vocalist friend will be presenting a holiday concert called Human Kindness at Jimmy Mak’s together with the ensemble she dubs “the Educated Band.”
Included in the Educated Band are iconic jazz powerhouse Dan Balmer (guitar), Andrew Oliver (piano), Kevin Deitz (bass), Todd Strait (drums), and me, Wendy Goodwin on the violin.
Tasha’s concerts are always memorable, moving, and a load of fun to experience. It’s like being transported to an Old Hollywood movie where the word classy just doesn’t even do the experience justice. When Tasha performs, she goes for it! You must see it and hear it to fully understand.
I’ll be opening the concert at 6:45 with a short set from my Acoustic Christmas series (for full details on Acoustic Christmas click here.)
Consider Human Kindness as a very engaging alternative to the typical Holiday concert fare. You will not be disappointed.

WHERE: Jimmy Mak’s

I recently returned from a tour in Germany with the International New Classical group Coram Deo Ensemble. This video was taken at a gorgeous cathedral in Füssen, Germany. It was a lot of fun and one of the gentlemen helping us with the production on the tour (lights, sound etc.) runs an event company in Southern Bavaria. Whereas most weddings Effesenden Music provides music for in the Pacific Northwest are situated outside on a beautiful vineyard or garden, Dirk told me that getting married in a church is the thing to do in Southern Germany. One funny fact is that in spite of all the outdoor weddings I’ve played for in the Pacific Northwest–even some where it poured down rain, I have never been as cold as I was playing in this beautiful Catholic cathedral!
We will be touring Oregon, Washington and Vancouver B.C. in the coming 6 weeks. I am looking forward greatly to playing with these wonderful musicians again. You can read more about Coram Deo Ensemble on our Facebook page.
